Zombies, we all secretly (or not so secretly) love them -- but why? With Night of the Living Dead, Zombies became America's Godzilla, a cautionary tale of what could happen when Science runs amok. Unlike with Godzilla, however, they are also a reassurance that no matter what those pointy headed scientists get up to, a shotgun and machete are all that is required to set things right. (article)
Evidently, the Kanji character known as Fenrir means "Ice Wolf." I haven't been able to verify this using google and I cannot really use a Kanji dictionary yet, however if this is correct a little part of me thinks it is really cool. Hail the universal proto-language...
I've been really enjoying Wakashima Kanon (分島 花音). Imagine a ethereal goth style with a cello and you are in the ballpark for her sound. Evidently, she works with Mana (Malice Mizer, Moi dix Mois) who has a more Death Rock/Metal edge. When I saw this ending for Vampire Knight, I had to find the artist.
Search at Nipponsei for Vampire Knight ending will get you the torrent for this track.

Men love death. In everything they make, they hollow out a central place for death, let its rancid smell contaminate every dimension of whatever still survives. Men especially love murder. In art they celebrate it, and in life they commit it. They embrace murder as if life without it would be devoid of passion, meaning, and action, as if murder were solace, stilling their sobs as they mourn the emptiness and alienation of their lives - Andrea Dworkin
What is meant by the Method of Science? Charles Maurras states "What our fathers did through custom and feeling, we ourselves pursue it through reason and will, with the assurance and clarity of science." | SAID the Lion to the Lioness-'When you are amber dust,- No more a raging fire like the heat of the Sun (No liking but all lust)- Remember still the flowering of the amber blood and bone, The rippling of bright muscles like a sea, Remember the rose-prickles of bright paws Though the fire of that sun the heart and the moon-cold bone are one.' Said the Skeleton lying upon the sands of Time- 'The great gold planet that is the mourning heat of the Sun Is greater than all gold, more powerful Than the tawny body of a Lion that fire consumes Like all that grows or leaps...so is the heart More powerful than all dust. Once I was Hercules Or Samson, strong as the pillars of the seas: But the flames of the heart consumed me, and the mind Is but a foolish wind.' Said the Sun to the Moon-'When you are but a lonely white crone, And I, a dead King in my golden armour somewhere in a dark wood, Remember only this of our hopeless love That never till Time is done Will the fire of the heart and the fire of the mind be one.' |

Quite naturally, White Nationalists want to cut loose that "huge anchor" pulling America in an anti-racist direction, eject the people who are "urinating" in our discursive pool, and cast off the "70 lb. backpack" holding down our movement. As Spock would say, it is only logical. I emphasize: this is not to say the Jews should be rounded up in concentration camps and exterminated. Rather, we believe they should seek refuge elsewhere, maybe in Israel where they already have a state of their own.

"Real men exist to attain knowledge of the transcendent and to strive and accomplish heroically."
"While in a ‘pure blood’ horse or cat the biological element constitutes the central one, and therefore racial considerations can be legitimately restricted to it, this is certainly not the case with man, or at least any man worthy of the name . . . Therefore racial treatment of man can not stop only at a biological level."
"Evola was no lackey of the Fascist regime. He attacked conciliation with the Vatican in the years before the 1929 Vatican Accords and developed an interpretation of race that directly contradicted the one favored by the German government and important currents within Fascism. His journal, La Torre (The Tower), was closed down in 1930 because of his criticism of Fascist toughs, gli squadristi. Evola, however, never had to face jail for his serious writings during the Fascist era. That had to wait for liberal democracy."
"Hansen quotes right-wing Italians who say that Evola’s influence discourages political action because his Tradition comes from an impossibly distant past and assumes an impossibly transcendent truth and a hopelessly pessimistic view of the present. Yet Evola confronts the modern world with an absolute challenge. Its materialism, egalitarianism, feminism, and economism are fundamentally wrong. The way out is through rejecting these mistakes and returning to spirit, transcendence and hierarchy, to the Männerbund and the Legionary Spirit. It may be discouraging to think that we are living in a Dark Age, but the Kali Yuga is also the end of a cosmic cycle."

I fondly remember "The Parking Lot is Full," a web comic dealing with angst, perversion, sex and the like. It ran from 1993 to 2002. I often refer to two of the strips. This is one of them. There is now an archive containing most of the entire run.
Speaking of comics, I just found "Cat and Girl" and I am reading through the archives. I found this one particularly funny as it occurred 6 days after the attack on the World Trade Center in NY. The one after it pretty much summed up my opinion in September of 2001.

It is necessary to distinguish between nationality and nationalism. The Middle Ages knew nationalities but not nationalisms. Nationality is a natural factor that encompasses a certain group of common elementary characteristics that are retained both in the hierarchical differentiation and in the hierarchical participation, which they do not oppose. Therefore, during the Middle Ages, castes, social bodies, and orders were articulated within various nationalities, and while the types of the warrior, noble, merchant, and artisan conformed to the characteristics of this or of that nation, these articulations represented at the same time wider, international units. Hence, the possibility for the members of the same caste who came from different nations to understand each other better than the members of different castes within the same nation.
Modem nationalism represents, with regard to this, a movement in the opposite direction. Modem nationalism is not based on a natural unity, but on an artificial and centralizing one. The need for this type of unity was increasingly felt at the same time as the natural and healthy sense of nationality was lost and as individuals approached the state of pure quantity, of being merely the masses, after every authentic tradition and qualitative articulation was destroyed. Nationalism acts upon these masses through myths and suggestions that are likely to galvanize them, awaken elementary instincts in them, flatter them with the perspectives and fancies of supremacy, exclusivism, and power. Regardless of its myths, the substance of modem nationalism is not an ethnos but a demos, and its prototype always remains the plebeian one produced by the French Revolution.

Five things people often do not realize about evolution.
If the public doesn't get evolution, part of the reason may be because many don't fully appreciate some of the ideas behind the theory. Here's a rundown of five things about evolution that many people don't fully understand.
Any environmentalist who supports open immigration is simply deluded. Resources are finite, the number of people present to utilize these resources must be limited. Hmm, I wonder if anyone will tie the connection between increased resource consumption due, in large part, to lax immigration laws, and the need for an American empire?
I did not know that Beverly Cleary was born and raised in Oregon.
The Hollywood branch of the Multnomah County Library, near where she lived as a child, commissioned a map that is on its lobby wall of Henry Huggins's Klickitat Street neighborhood. Statues of her beloved characters Henry Huggins; the Huggins's dog, Ribsy; and Ramona Quimby can be found in Grant Park in Portland, Oregon. In June 2008, the two-campus K–8 school of the same neighborhood, Hollyrood-Fernwood, itself the product of a merger of two schools the previous year, was officially renamed Beverly Cleary School. As a child, Cleary attended the former Fernwood Grammar School, one of the two buildings that make up the school that now bear her namesake.

They are not even collecting music. They are collecting information. Remember Specimen? Any of the other Goth-Punk/Deathrock/New Wave hybrids from the 80's? Spin them forward 20 years and run them through Japanese sensibilities, and viola, you have Hangry & Angry. The Japanese cannot sell out, as it was sold to begin with. We can thus bypass all the normal musical purist sensibilities of the consumerist-culture addict pretending that he is counter-cultural. We could, if we dare, pretend that such a distinction is meaningless, that the counter-culture is nothing more than the loyal opposition which supports and defines the greater hegemonic principles that governs this decaying morass indicated by the phrase "Modern Culture."
Anyway, the EP is your typical energetic JRock fare, the lyrics mixing in and out of English to Japanese and back again. The video is amusing as well. Evidently, they will be at Sakuracon, but I am not sure if I will be able to go. The text below is from the JapanFiles website.
What is Hangry & Angry?
Hangry & Angry is a brand of popular Japanese designer h.NAOTO. Illustrator GASHICON (in Japanese, sorry) draws the gurokawa (grotesque-cute)-style characters "Hangry" and "Angry" who came from the H44 Star Nebula in order to save the world from global warming. They arrived in the present in their time machine dubbed "LOVE MACHINE."
Name: HANGRY (who might be Hitomi Yoshizawa)
Sex: Female cat
Height: 164 cm (not including hair)
Birthplace: H44 Star Nebula
* A very punk girl. Even though she looks wild and untamed, she is actually delicate and hates things that are out of order.
Name: ANGRY (who might be Rika Ishikawa)
Sex: Female cat
Height: 156 cm (not including hair)
Birthplace: H44 Star Nebula
* A girl who loves goth and appears to be very cute, but in reality, she has a secret devilish side. She believes that people will feel the true power of her music.

As you all should know, I am a member of the US Navy. As such, I am signed up to receive the Military.com newsletter. A marine reflects on Perle's "revisionism." I love when combat experienced people rip on the NeoCons.
Now, this is an interesting quote, both in the context of the OTO and in the US at large. "People protest, that's a good sign," Bush said. "It's a sign of a healthy society."
Now, I know that right after the elections, many people seemed to be expressing optimism now that Democrats were in control of congress. It is rather interesting then that the Democrats are leading the call to institute the draft. Fortunately, the Department of Defense seems to think that opening the draft would disproportionately strike at the poorer classes, and reduce the standards of the military. read about how the DoD Cites Success of All-Volunteer Force.
Lest we get brought down by the conflicting hope that the liberals fail in drafting large chunks of the untrained to catch bullets on foreign shores, remember "If I want to taste the rainbow, I'll eat a lesbian."
Science and evolution are of interest to me, so the discovery of European settlers from 30,000 years ago in a cave is fascinating. Cave fossils are early Europeans. Now, I have, for some years no, sided with the camp that feels that rather than eradicating the Neanderthals, we screwed them. The prior article discusses that, as does "Could our big brains come from Neanderthals?"
Not all of the science news is good however. Some scientists are decrying our ever increasing depletion of ocean food stocks. 'Only 50 years left' for sea fish Green or Gray sadly, so many greens are morons.
A brief jump back to the war, the media offers us this distraction from the general bad news of the continuing war on terror -- German troops 'had Nazi symbol.'
Borders are tricky things. With the downsizing of the American forces deployed in Korea, Samsung has partnered with Korea to find a solution for guarding their borders. Armed Robots! See the video it is pretty cool.

A Report:
War Crimes Committed Against U.S. Military Personnel, June 8, 1967
Submitted to the Secretary of the Army in his capacity as Executive Agent for the Secretary of Defense, June 8, 2005.
[...]
On June 8, 1967 while patrolling in international waters in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea, USS Liberty (AGTR-5) was savagely attacked without warning or justification by air and naval forces of the state of Israel.
Of a crew of 294 officers and men (including three civilians), the ship suffered thirty four (34) killed in action and one hundred seventy three (173) wounded in action. The ship itself, a Forty Million ($40,000,000) Dollar state of the art signals intelligence (SIGINT) platform, was so badly damaged that it never sailed on an operational mission again and was sold in 1970 for $101,666.66 as scrap.
[...]
Survivors also report that the torpedo boat crews fired on the inflated life boats launched by the crew after the captain gave the order "prepare to abandon ship." This order had to be rescinded because the crew was unable to stand on the main deck without being fired upon and the life rafts were destroyed as they were launched.
