One of the fun things about having [info]plutherus as a roommate is that we can expose each other to missed gems. Currently, we are watching Shaun Cassidy's 1995 creation, American Gothic. The show is set in a small Southern town with a wonderfully twisted sheriff. I will always remember Sheriff Lucas Buck whistling the Andy Griffith theme song as he taps on the jail's bars while walking toward the man whose daughter he had just killed. There is an apparent preoccupation with fire which I have heard is a reflection of Shaun Cassidy's father having died in a fire. Some of the effects and graphics look a bit dated, but judging from plutherus' reactions, the show itself still has a strong impact.

"All guilt is relative. Loyalty counts. And never let your conscience be your guide." - Sheriff Lucas Buck

I was a big fan of the show when it was on. Pretty crushed when it got canceled.
